An Inside Scoop Into My Creations
At MKG Interior Design, I know what it means to give each project I work on the personalized attention it deserves. I want your residential or commercial space to reflect your genuine tastes, and I make it my business to stay within your budget in order to make it happen. Take a look at some of my previous work and let me take a load off your shoulders!
THE HEART OF THE HOME
Kitchens are often considered the heart of the home, where families come together not just to prepare meals but also to entertain and hang out.
This design was created for my clients who wanted something a little bit different and a little bit retro, but that would still perform with todays modern needs in mind. This is a one of a kind design incorporating my clients love for the Mid-Century Modern style but with an MKG Interior Design twist.
Working together with the joiners we created a bespoke cabinet design, incorporating black powder coated gantries and cabinet frames. Complemented by black sink, tap and the amazing black SMEG freestanding stove; and with a pop of teal to bring some colour into the room. Now this kitchen brings a smile to my clients face every day!

Open Plan Living is a wonderful way for a family to live and spend time together. This Open Plan Living Space was created for a family to enjoy, with relaxed comfortable furniture where everyone can find a spot to watch TV, eat dinner or just hang out and read a book on the super soft sofa and armchair.
As this home is located on the edge of Macquarie Lake, it was important for the client to bring the coastal colours inside but without creating a cliche coastal look.
I think I've pulled it off!
A COOKS KITCHEN
One of the most important rooms of the house and also one of the most hard working. This Cooks Kitchen with its own Butler's Pantry is the heart of this home. The Butler's Pantry takes care of the messy day to day work and leaves the main kitchen to create and explore culinary delights unencumbered by the usual daily goings on.
This rural home celebrates its stunning views with restrained colour and texture and in its own way complements the beautiful open spaces outside.
This gorgeous room was created to work with some of the beautiful Original Art, Glass and Pottery pieces my clients had collected over time.
Custom designed and made Joinery was created to display all their precious items and a stunning new gas fireplace was installed to create a cosy mood and keep everyone warm.
Custom made New Zealand Wool Rug finishes off the design to perfection.
This Dining Space sits perfectly between the Living Room and the Kitchen.
With a mix of antique and new furniture if creates a great space for the family to come together at the end of each day. Nothing is too precious and this room is used by the client every day.
The stunning Mahogany Buffet and Dining Chairs were purchased from the NSW Southern Highlands and work well with the large dining table which is a relatively new acquisition.
This contemporary kitchen is an extension of the living and dining room so was created to flow seamlessly.
The natural oak flooring and colour palette plays a big role in making this kitchen part of the main living area.
The decision was made not to use kitchen joinery on the peninsula but to re purpose an existing dining table for this function. Carrara marble was added to great effect to provide a work surface on the free standing peninsula and also acts as an excellent servery when needed.
LIVING ROOM, DINING ROOM AND KITCHEN
The flow on effect.
With a unified colour pallet these spaces read as one, with a mix of antique and new furniture and decor pieces the feeling is warm and lived in.
This design fulfills my clients brief and gives my client and their family a welcoming place to congregate each day.
At this outdoor modern space, I created a soft, romantic environment where all guests feel warm and invited.
The wonderful mix of fabrics and colours is now layered into this space’s architecture and furnishings. The result is a place of balance and beauty, in harmony with its surroundings.
THE OUTDOOR LOUNGE
There is nothing better on a hot summer evening then relaxing outside.
This Outdoor Lining Area is perfectly designed with that in mind. The accent colour selected brings life to this area without being overpowering.
Perfect for a summer BBQ or evening cocktails with friends and family.
This gorgeous Guest Room was created with the guest in mind. With calm and relaxed styling, soft velvet in powder blue and pink provide a hint of colour to this otherwise neutral palette.
The emphases of this design is on understated luxury, using premium quality materials.
GUEST ROOM DECOR
This look was curated specifically with guests in mind. The client wanted friends to feel welcome and relaxed when visiting with a private sanctuary to escape to if so desired.
Nothing in this guest room overwhelms, all decor pieces were selected to complement each other and provide interest in an otherwise neutral palette.
MASTER ENSUITE RENOVATION
From a dated and dark ensuite to a new, bright, luxurious space that accommodates both my clients needs. This Double Vanity with lots of storage has stunning brass hardware and taps; and a stone top for ease of cleaning.
Now this space is spa like and peaceful, with underfloor heating, heated towel rail and excellent task lighting, it's a pleasure to get ready every morning!
RELAXING MASTER BEDROOM
I dressed up this space with sophisticated decor that is simple and inviting, selecting luxurious natural linen bedding with classic design and texture.
The owners of this space sought a cosy and moody retreat at the end of each day. A dary moody wall colour, stylish furnishings and the monochromatic palette with just a touch of brass to warm up this colour scheme.
This Townhouse is small but perfectly formed with an updated MCM vibe. One of the key decisions was to open up the kitchen and also introduce a wall of storage in the dining room to keep the entire space pared back and uncluttered.
Keeping the colour palette light and bright with a hint of soft pink in the kitchen splashback tile, front door, custom sofa and cushions; and black accents to give the colour scheme some depth.
This is now an uplifting home, that truly reflects my clients personality and brings a smile to their face every time they walk though the pink door.
This property has a quirky charm, stunning grounds and great bones, I created the perfect luxury getaway for the owners of this home. This design is all about relaxed comfort, a soft colour palette that complements the views of the rain forest and lots of classic style but with a contemporary twist.
