Located in the heart of Terrigal, this full penthouse renovation at Star of the Sea showcases MKG Interior Design’s signature approach to elegant, coastal-inspired interiors. Spanning three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a laundry, butler’s pantry, kitchen, and multiple dining and living spaces, this project was a complete transformation from top to bottom.

With breathtaking ocean views and generous natural light, our design brief was to elevate the home’s functionality while creating a timeless, relaxed coastal aesthetic that balanced luxury with comfort.

Our clients wanted a fresh, contemporary feel while still honouring the character of the existing penthouse. They asked for a more cohesive flow between living and dining zones, increased storage and usability throughout, and thoughtful finishes that would stand the test of time in a beachside location.

Spaces Transformed:

1. 3 Bathrooms: Modernised with terrazzo-style tiles, matte black hardware, custom joinery, and coastal textures

2. Kitchen & Butler’s Pantry: Featuring Crystal White Quartzite countertops, a classic farmhouse sink, brushed brass fittings, and bespoke cabinetry

3. Dining Areas: Formal and informal dining zones designed for entertaining, using soft oak tones and natural textures to link both spaces

4. Living Room: A calming, layered palette enhanced with refined styling and connection to the coastal surrounds

5. Bedrooms: Fresh paint, lighting, window treatments and styled elements to elevate each space

6. Laundry: Improved layout with smart storage, high-end finishes, and subtle design touches to make the space beautiful and functional
